Passolo 是一款功能強大的軟體本地化工具，它支持以 Visual C++ 、Borland C++ 及 Delphi 語言編寫的軟體（.exe、.dll、.ocx）的本地化。以往針對這兩種不同語言編寫的軟體，我們大多是需要分別使用 Visual Localize 和 Language Localizator 來進行軟體的中文化。而現在，Passolo 把二者的功能結合在了一起，並且性能穩定、易於使用，用戶即不需要進行專門的訓練，也不需要豐富的編程經驗，在本地化的過程中可能發生的許多錯誤也都能由 Passolo 識別或自動糾正。

作為專業性的本地化工具，Passolo 的功能主要包括：

System Requirements

From Version 6.0 PASSOLO will be delivered as a Unicode application only and therefore can be used only on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. A multilingual Windows 2000 or Windows XP is recommended for projects with Asian languages. Of course PASSOLO can localize software for Windows 9x.

編輯PASSOLO字典

　　如果我們有必要，是可以編輯PASSOLO字典的。在此，建議大家使用Microsoft Office中的Excel來編輯PASSOLO（.glo 格式）字典。以下解說PASSOLO（.glo 格式）字典的構成內容。當我們用Excel打開後，我們可以看到，第一行第一列和第一行第二列有一些數字，比如，第一行第一列為“9 1”，它表示主標識為9，子標識為1，其中，9和1由一個空格隔開，查看PASSOLO幫助檔，知道它是English (USA)；同樣，第一行第二列為“4 2”，它表示主標識為4，子標識為2，它代表Chinese (P.R.C)。如果一種語言的子標識為0，則可以省略不寫。知道了這一點，就可以自由編輯PASSOLO字典了。從前文所述可知，第一列是源字串列表，第二列就是翻譯後的字串列表了。我們可以根據自己的需要作一些修改，使字典更實用。當然，在裏面你可以自由增加或減少字串條目。不過，別忘了在保存該字典時應選擇保存類型為“文字檔案（跳位字元分隔）（*.txt）”，檔案名為“*.glo”（其中，*為字典名，雙引號為英文狀態下的）。
